What Horror’s Scariest Stars Look Like In Real Life.

When you appear as a scary looking villain in a horror flick, your true appearance is often masked by special effects, makeup, and, you guessed it, a hockey mask. But in real life, these supernatural creatures are no different than the rest of us. Most of you would probably walk by them on the street without realizing the roles they played. This is actually quite an advantage for them, as it gives these actors the chance to avoid being typecast in Hollywood, but it's bad for us, because when we come face to face with them, we won't know whether we should be afraid of them or not.

Samara caused havoc and brought terror to audiences in "The Ring" in 2002.

In the film, anyone who watched a videotape of Samara would get a call informing them that they had 7 days to live. Then they'd get a visit from Samara herself as she crawled out of the well and into your living room, and killed you.

In real life, Daveigh Chase, aka the actress who played Samara, is quite lovely.

The 26-year-old actress has appeared in movies like "Donnie Darko" and Lilo Pelekai in "Lilo & Stitch." But she's also starred on "Charmed", "ER" and is best known for playing Rhonda on HBO's "Big Love."

Freddy Krueger first haunted our dreams in "A Nightmare On Elm Street."

The character's dark wit, humor, and thirst for blood gave audience members nightmares with his hideous looking burnt flesh and sharp claw glove, which he used to murder his victims.

Freddy gave Robert Englund the kind of recognition that still follows him to this day.

He has remained active in movies and television. He even had his own "Freddy's Nightmare series" and guest starred on "Supernatural." But when he's not slashing people in dreams, he enjoys being a musician too.

The Demon Nun Valak brought fear into everyone's heart in "The Conjuring 2."

In the film, paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren traveled to Enfield, in North London, to help a girl showing signs of demonic possession. In the end they became the targets of the malicious Valak .

In real life, Bonnie Aarons has a striking appearance that has awarded her some interesting roles.

Of course, the make-up artists in the film are worthy of the real praise, but fans of Valak insist that Bonnie Aarons, who has starred in both horror films and comedy, gave the role it's sinister look.

Pennywise struck terror in coulrophobics everywhere in the mini-series "It" in the 1990s.

The clown was based on a Stephen King novel of the same name, and it still horrifies children and grownups to this day, especially with the new "It" film coming out in 2017.

However, Tim Curry, the actor who played Pennywise is a good guy, with some misfortune.

The actor, singer, and composer was struck down by a horrible disease that confined him to a wheelchair. But that hasn't stopped Curry from working and writing music.

In 1987's "Hellraiser" audiences were introduced to the terrifying B-movie villain, Pinhead.

During the course of 8 horror films, Pinhead, the lead cenobite, tore the souls apart of several victims and put fear into the hearts of audiences.

Doug Bradley tried to distance himself from the role to star in other movies.

But Pinhead remained a part of Bradley's career over the years, and to this day, fans claim that it would be impossible to imagine anyone else in this role.

The Maniac Leatherface was spine chilling in Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

In the 2006 film "Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning", we get to see a young Leatherface as he fine tunes his skills which he'll later use to cause torture and unadulterated pain to his victim.

Andrew Byniarski is one of 7 actors who played Leatherface so far.

The 48-year-old actor is a former bodybuilder who starred in both modern versions of the "Texas Chainsaw" franchise. He has also starred as Zangief in "Street Fighter", and Steve Lattimer in "The Program."
