Marrakech is the third largest country in Morocco after Casablanca and Rabat, and is located in the west of Morocco at the foot of the High Atlas, the high mountainous barrier in North Africa. Like almost every Moroccan city, Marrakech includes both an old city called the Madina and a modern one called Gueliz. Marrakech’s attractions include attractive green gardens, ruins of 16th century palaces and of course the La Koutoubia Mosque that was built in the 12th century.
